A Little Bit About Us

Sebastiano Caniglia and his wife Helane operated Pal’s Ice Cream for several years before relocating it to this location in 2000. After a short time, they converted the ice cream shop to an Italian restaurant, and named it Sebastiano’s Italiano.

After a dozen years in operation, Seba and Helane sought us out in early 2013 to discuss selling the restaurant. We were “semi- regulars”and very fond of the place. Indeed,the very first restaurant at which I dined after moving to Toledo was Sebastiano’s! After a summer of negotiation over good food and drinks,we finalized the purchase on Labor Day weekend.

Sarah is a native of Fostoria and has worked at the Lucas County Juvenile Court for over fifteen years. I am North Dakota native and, after serving as an active duty surface warfare officer in the Navy, left the service to pursue cooking full-time.

We have three beautiful young children, whom you will no doubt see toddling around the restaurant at some point!
